OUR STORY

Our Material Supply Division was built on a foundation that is unique within the rooftop green roof and roof terrace industry. Unlike traditional distributors, our knowledge comes from decades of designing, supplying, and constructing complex rooftop systems. We understand the products we supply because we have installed them, tested them in the field, and relied on them to perform on some of the industry's most demanding projects.

One of our founders earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture before continuing graduate studies in the Master of Environmental Design program at Michigan State University. There, he studied under Dr. D. Bradley Rowe, one of the nation's leading pioneers in green roof research and the founder of Michigan State University's internationally recognized Green Roof Research Program.

Working alongside Dr. Rowe provided firsthand experience in the science behind successful vegetated roof systems, including stormwater retention, substrate design, plant selection, roof slopes, growing media, thermal performance, carbon sequestration, and long-term system durability. This research has been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has helped establish many of the design principles used throughout today's green roof industry.

That scientific foundation became the cornerstone of our company.

Over the past two decades, we have successfully completed green roof and roof terrace projects across the United States, supplying and installing systems for commercial, institutional, civic, educational, and mixed-use developments. Our experience spans everything from extensive sedum green roofs to complex occupied roof terraces, roof paver systems, and biodiverse native planting installations.

This real-world construction experience directly shapes our Material Supply Division.

Rather than simply selling products from a catalog, we supply materials that have been proven through years of field installation and long-term performance. We understand how every component interacts with the rest of the assembly—from waterproofing protection, drainage, insulation, and filter fabrics to pedestals, pavers, engineered growing media, edging systems, and vegetation. Because we've built these systems ourselves, we know which products perform, which combinations work best, and what contractors and designers need to ensure successful installations.

Today, our Material Supply Division provides architects, landscape architects, contractors, developers, municipalities, and building owners with carefully selected products backed by practical expertise—not just product literature. Whether supplying complete roof terrace assemblies, green roof systems, drainage components, pedestal systems, engineered soils, or specialty rooftop landscape materials, our recommendations are based on scientific research, construction experience, and proven long-term performance.

Every project has expanded our understanding of how rooftop systems perform under varying climates, loading conditions, occupancy requirements, and maintenance programs. That knowledge enables us to help our customers select the right materials for their specific project requirements while avoiding costly mistakes.

Our commitment to quality extends beyond supplying products. We work closely with design professionals and contractors to provide technical guidance, product recommendations, system coordination, and practical insight gained from years of construction experience. We understand that successful rooftop environments depend not only on quality materials, but also on how those materials function together as a complete system.

Customers benefit from a rare combination of academic research, landscape architecture expertise, and decades of hands-on construction knowledge that few material suppliers can offer.

Research may have been where our journey began, but years of constructing successful rooftop projects transformed that knowledge into practical expertise. That experience now allows us to supply products with confidence, helping architects, contractors, and owners build durable, sustainable, and high-performing green roofs and roof terrace systems using materials that have been proven where it matters most—in the field.
